Change-making Young Artist for Justice
ABOUT THE ARTIST
L. F., 12 years old
In recent years, Leah has taken a strong and passionate interest social justice issues that have begun to expressively fuel her work and creativity. The portrait of George Floyd was a way to raise her awareness and sadness over the tragedy of this innocent man’s death and the senseless violence in our culture due to racism.
“I Can’t Breathe” was her very first successful and poignant experience with portrait work. The names surrounding his face represent the many Black people unjustly killed, signifying the intensity of the state of our culture. The illustrated montage is a reminder that life is precious and we all must be a part of positive change in the world.
The proceeds of this beautiful, high-quality poster will go to Soul2SoulSisters.org to support the health of black women in the community, and a GREAT resource for non-black allies to deepen their internal work around dismantling racist oppression.
To support this effort go to our Esty page and buy a $24 poster.
All proceeds will go to Soul 2 Soul Sisters.
Thank you for what you do for sustained action for change. Can’t stop, won’t stop.
